Book Review: Many Punctured Wings

Thick skin readers only.

A book wrought with deep, triggering details.

Many Punctured Wings by Nicolette Beebe is a new series that reads as a dark cornered romance.

If you haven't read a Beebe novel before, get ready.

Beebe is the queen of digging into the deepest depths of relationships to find all the broken little pieces that make a story both nail biting and page turning. This story is about Alice, coming out of a very controlling relationship, trying to break free from the bonds she felt powerless to break from. When she meets a handsome hotel manager, the will to pursue the sweet taste of love tempts her. But the shadow of her x-boyfriend is always something to contend with, making her life a living hell. Will she ever escape the cage built around her by her ex? Or is she doomed to be forever trapped by it?

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm not gonna lie, this this book felt very repetitive of Beebe's previous works. While it did capture my interest immediately, I could predict everything that would happen and felt a lot of the build-up to be unnecessary, especially surrounding the supporting characters. It all seemed too convenient that everything panned out correctly, even though there was no hope for a happy ending.

Despite that, if you love stories that tear at your heartstrings and leave you begging for something good to happen, this is a perfect book for you. BE WARNED there are themes of domestic abuse and toxic relationships. If this is something triggering to you, I would strongly recommend you pass on this read.
